2019 Triumph Speedmaster Review

Triumph Speedmaster Bike Overview

You'll find you get a lot of bike for your money with the Triumph Speedmaster. Although it's a junior cruiser, it doesn't feel like it's lacking in any way. For instance, it's not underpowered and doesn't feel cheap when you're riding it. Sure, the wheels can look a little budget, but this doesn't put us off. It has a lot of appeal overall, and would suit someone not bothered about the higher specs.

This bike gives you non-adjustable front forks with twin shocks on the rear. The bike has a total weight of 250kg so it's not the best for handling. You won't want to ride pillion on this bike either.  It can be a little uncomfortable to ride if you're on a rougher road with some potholes. However, the 60bhp Bonneville parallel twin engine is supported by 53ftlb of torque, so it has enough punch to get you going.

You can rely on the brand of this bike. These bikes can keep going for years, as long as you look after them with regular servicing. All of this in a bike and you can pick it up for around £7k- which really is a lot of bike for your money. It is a competitively priced model that is honest and reliable.

Ride Quality 3 out of 5 stars

Great handling for a cruiser, doesn't feel heavy. Engine is very smooth. Rear shocks are terrible over bumps very harsh.

Engine 3 out of 5 stars

Engine is smooth and torquey if not hugely powerful. Definitely needs 6 gears.

Running Cost 4 out of 5 stars

Rear suspension.

Build Quality 3 out of 5 stars

Broken down after picking it up from the dealer! Turned out to be a small issue however it took two weeks to locate the issue. No problem since. Indicator connectors are very exposed to rain and require regular cleaning. I ride everyday and the finish is standing up so far.

Brake 3 out of 5 stars

Adequate for normal riding.
